Maury County and the City of Columbia are now in compliance with government guidelines making OEM responsible for implementation of any and all emergency guidelines.

OEM has developed teams of rescue professionals — swift water rescue, dive/recovery, boat operations, fire investigation, search and rescue, medical, hazardous device, CBRN (hazardous materials), ropes rescue, collapse rescue, and DART (animal response team)
Every citizen in the US is part of the National Emergency Management System. This system is all about protecting people and property from all types of hazards. At this level, each citizen has the responsibility to protect yourself and your family by knowing what to do before, during, and after an event.
The OEM works closely with all local, county, state, and federal partner agencies to respond to any emergent situation. These agencies include Maury County Sheriff’s Department, Maury Regional Emergency Medical Services, Columbia Police Department, Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Spring Hill Police Department and the Fire Departments of Mt. Pleasant, Maury County, and Spring Hill, as well as Columbia Fire Department.
